Re: College Decisions-Class of 2013
I'm in fact attending Northwest. Not sure if I'll try to start up a quiz bowl team there, but the main reason for this message was that if you need help with staffing or anything on the weekends (I'm not a moderator by any stretch of the imagination), I can do scorekeeping/timekeeping/errand running...

Re: Middle School Programs in Missouri
Oh, sorry about that Jason. What brought me here was Charles's post about the high school circuit being down near areas like KC. I'm never diligent about keeping on topic here. If you want to move it to another thread, go ahead, but that -and what I put below this above explanation- will be all I ha...

Re: Middle School Programs in Missouri
Not to intrude here, but the school administration approved our layout for an Unofficial NAQT tournament next year. A lot of specifics are still pending, but it looks like for now, we are going to be drawing up some teams from NW Missouri for a very creative tournament setup.

Re: State game schedules
Yeah, hopefully someone is down there to post some scores. The first round should have concluded by now...Is Charles down there? It's a day early for Rock Bridge, but still, I'd be surprised if he wasn't watching today.

Re: Quizbowl in Iowa
Unless anything changes drastically, we would be open to inviting Missouri schools. While the whole thing is not set in stone yet by any means, we do have a very creative idea forming involving Missouri schools.

Re: Quizbowl in Iowa
In showing this forum thread to Coach today, he wanted to discuss a tournament set-up with you via email, Charles. What is your email address?

Re: Quizbowl in Iowa
I will most definitely show this forum to him tomorrow. I think the large detail with him is that he is afraid of NAQT questions because they are styled towards literature and history...and he has seen how we have fared with that when we have attended NAQT tournaments in Missouri (Rightly so, we hav...

Re: Quizbowl in Iowa
So I talked the idea of a tournament over with Coach today; he seems to like it. However, the way he wants to implement it is to buy questions from KnowledgeMaster (it's mainly what we use in Iowa :| ) unless NAQT questions are significantly cheaper, and he only wants to house 6 teams, so our team w...

Re: Quizbowl in Iowa
I would suggest trying to get your team to run a fall and spring tournament. A lot of schools have been able to pull that off without too much hassle, and if you email every Iowa team you can find a contact for, and invite NWMO teams, I'm sure you could pull together a decent sized field and make y...

Re: College Teams
Hmm, well that narrows down the list to three. Say, how do you college kids travel to quiz bowls at other colleges anyway? Do you just all pool into someone's vehicle and declare a road trip?NWMO and Kansas don't have teams.

College Teams
After graduating next year, I would like to extend my Quiz Bowl career into college. I haven't decided on a college yet, but I've got a rough list that I've been thinking about: Northwest Missouri State Missouri Kansas Iowa State Do any of those colleges already have teams (I've heard a lot about Mi...

Re: District Picks
Hmm, well I suppose that is true. You can't get MSHSAA to switch to pyramidal questions? With enough people (coaches, AD's, etc.), you would think you could sway them to swap formats by protesting enough. Dedication to Quiz Bowl in Iowa is not good, I will agree. However, I think this is because Iow...

Quizbowl in Iowa
Moderator note: split from District Picks thread
Not to interrupt the fray here, but I consider you all lucky that you even have state-recognized districts to compete in. Iowa doesn't have those. I guess it's just another reminder of how important Quiz Bowl is in Missouri.

Re: Savannah NAQT Qualifier 2012
Very fun tournament! Can't wait until next years. As for Paul, it was very fun competing against you, and I can't believe you guys lost to Pilot Grove. You are on a whole other level than everyone else that was competing.
