The Hickman Academic Team invites you to participate in the Kewpie Academic Tournament III on February 27, 2016 in Columbia, Missouri. We are using a 6-person limit for the rosters of each team at this tournament. If you have more players who are interested in attending, we encourage you to sign them up to play on an additional team from your school.
We will be using BASK, a set written by members of the Columbia University, University of Chicago, and Cornell University quiz bowl teams. This set will also be used at Orchard Farm's April Eagle Regional Open on April 2.
The field for this tournament will be capped at 18 teams. Teams will be entered into the field on a first-come, first-served basis. If the field fills, we will be able to offer teams a 10 game schedule.
Entry fee is $70 for each team and a $5 discount per fully functional 8-person buzzer system (limit 2)
To register for the Hickman Academic Tournament, please email Kathleen Wells-Morgan at kwellsmo@cpsk12.org with the name of your school and how many teams you wish to enter.

We are hoping to expand the field to 24, so joining the waitlist may be fruitful.

From what I heard from Alex, Hickman cleared the field, and some combo of teams including Rock Bridge A and Hallsville were involved in a three team circle of death for second place.yankees12071222 wrote:Any updates on this tournament?

Yeah, Hickman cleared the field, we (Rock Bridge) got second after being automatically placed in the second/third game based on ppg, beating Helias who played against Hallsville for the right to play us.
I'm pretty sure Hickman destroyed everyone today. That's the first time we've played them all year where it didn't come down to the last toss up.
The other teams in the playoffs were Rock Bridge B (who got 5th) and Helias B (who got 6th).
It was a well-run tournament and all of our staffers we had did a great job.
Also when we played Rock Bridge B they kept the score within 100, that was really interesting.
