District Assignments

Post by CentraliaCoach »

District assignments were made Friday. Any changes in districts could be listed/discussed here.

Class 3, District 7 now consists of Centralia, Hallsville, Fulton, North Callaway, Southern Boone, Mexico, and Montgomery County.

We swapped Boonville (they moved to district 8) and South Callaway (who dropped to class two) for Mexico (who dropped from class 4) and Montgomery County (formerly district 5).

Montgomery County won their district last year, Southern Boone won this district last year, Mexico is going to be eager now that they don't have to compete with Kirksville or Rock Bridge, Fulton and Hallsville will be solid, and Centralia returns our top scorer. There's a lot of quality here; I predict a State Final Four finish for this district's winner.

Also, Rock Bridge, Jefferson City, and Helias are in the same district, and they are in the same sectional as Fort Zumwalt West. Villa Duchesne, Ladue, and Clayton are in the same district, and they are in the same sectional as Eureka. We're going to sure have a representative top 4 at state everybody!

In shocker news, NKC and Liberty are no longer in the same district.

Or the same sectional, even.

I noticed that Glasgow and Pilot Grove are now in the same district. And South Callaway went down to Class 2.

If the mid-season poll is considered to be an accurate measure, then the Ladue/Clayton/Villa district is a tougher competition than states could possibly be.

Hmm...not a fan of SC's new district... But C3D7 seems pretty cool. Now I have to decide - who do I go to watch? lol

Sounds like Liberty North's arrival gave MSHSAA reason to play around with district & sectional assignments without altering the structure of their flawed system. Still, a wilted rose is a wilted rose is a wilted rose, and the thorns prick painfully as usual!

This is the dumbest thing ever. I went from 15% caring about MSHSAA tournaments to 2%.
