Matt's Buzzers

Post by DeckardCain » Sat Oct 15, 2011 3:59 am

Reposting this for the new season:

Matt's Buzzers was created in 2005 in memory Matt Cvijanovich, who was an avid college quizbowler at Iowa State University. He continued competing at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign during his 1st semester of Grad School. He passed away just after that first semester from complications of pancreatitis.

In memory of Matt, Matt's Buzzers will award 10 grants in the amount of $200 each to middle school and high school teams to be used to purchase a new buzzer system or repair an existing one.

The application and more information about Matt and the grants can be found at www.mattsbuzzers.com.

If you haven't liked their Facebook page, you might want to do so within the next 24 hours.

They're going to have a snap giveaway in memory of Matt's dad. First two schools to identify the location of a photograph that will be posted will get a grant. Of course, they're still accepting submissions until the end of the month for their annual awarding of ten grants.
