Conference Tournament suggestions

Post by ElsberryCoach » Thu Mar 17, 2016 7:38 am

Our conference traditionally has held its conference tournament on a Tuesday evening. We have three prelims with the top four heading to semi-finals. The last game typically ends somewhere between 9 and 10, which is pretty late for the championship game.

We are trying to get the admins to approve a Saturday tournament. Barring that, they are suggesting a way to shorten the tournament.

How is your conference tournament organized? Weekday? Weekend? Seeded? Round robin? Single elimination?

There's a great deal of information for conferences in this thread.

Kevin Stockman just hosted the Gateway Athletic Conference at Orchard Farm. It was run on the 20/20 format on a Saturday, the way you mentioned. My understanding was that it was well-received by the coaches involved.
