ta-da.

COMM 251 is really iffy. i'm waiting on an override, because i should have been able to register for it on monday (my registration day) but comm was listed as my second major and the computer only recognizes one major. as a result, i was blocked out of the class and now there are no seats left (hate my advisor :grumble grumble: ). but! i did get an override into a jr/sr only level course (COMM 350).... my advisor seems to think i'll have 59 hours at the end of the summer. what she doesn't know is that i'm taking statistics next semester instead of over the summer as originally planned, and even if i was taking it this summer, i'd still only have 56 hours.... hahahaha oh well. it worked out pretty well for me.

and i'm taking percussion (emphasis on snare drum)!

How in the heck did you get into Media Crit!?!? Seriously, half the Index staff will be in there, as will half of campus media leadership, and (lo and behold) the other half's grumbling about how they'll going to graduate in four years without jumping to argumentation.

I'm not in the grumbling half. See you Mondays at 6:30. Ought to be fun...

yesss...i got the last spot in dr. jeanie's evening Global Awareness class. woo!

all right, so the 13 hours are just as i'd planned 'em, but i don't know what to do about this whole speech class thing...it's offered both at 8 and 9:30 TR mornings (well and a lot of other times, but those are at what i'm looking)...for several weeks i've been getting to work at 8 on TRF, so i know it's POSSIBLE for me, but i don't know if i want to commit to that...but i'd be a lot more productive with an earlier start to the day...hmm.
i'm not thinking those'll fill up for a while, though, so i can think about it.

Go with the earlier class and get a early start to the day. Early mornings are the best.

But boy those 4:20 classes sure are late. The trick is not starting before 9 and ending as close to noon as possible

I dunno, I'm not a morning person in the least.

I just hope my bike riding buddy has mornings off, that'd be great for early riding.

Not really; I pretty much live in the SUB and whore myself to Missouri's best Campus Media program. And again, that's NOT in Boone County! :P

Hena Ahmad's good and very friendly.

You will learn a lot from John Ishiyama; he's done research on the growth (or lack thereof) of democracy in post-Soviet Russia and surrounding countries. He observed the election in Azerbaijan last year.

Not sure about Sung or Yoder. You would have had a blast if you got Bruce Coggins. At least you won't need earplugs, as Randy Hagerty projects his voice quite well, to put it mildly.

Code:
HLTH 196 Racquetball                  MW  0730-0820  (second block)
COMM 170 Public Speaking              MWF 0830-0920
ECON 200 Principles of Macroeconomics MWF 0930-1020
POL  250 Intro to Int'l Relations     MWF 1030-1120
PHRE 188 Ethics                       MW  1230-1350
HLTH 195 Lifetime Health & Fitness    TR  0830-0920

This'll be quite the departure from my current classes at noon twice, 1:30 other three days I've got going. It should be nice, it'll give me a chance to go riding in the afternoon and that hellish 7:30 is only for like, 7 weeks and even then in the spring when it won't be terribly cold.

Most people tend to lump anything post-undergrad into this category of just being a grad student. I really don't consider myself a grad student. Law students are under a considerable time crunch to complete your J.D. unless you go to a night school and almost certainly not pass the bar your first time at it. This means that I cannot vegetate indefinitely as some people do until they finally get a masters and/or Ph. D. Law is a 3 year program and I go to a school that requires 91 credits for graduation. So yeah, the whole 3 course meal of most grad students is a lovely dream for me.

Next semester, I'm probably taking Econometrics, Money/Banking, Public Economics, and Game Theory. I should have my masters in December 2007.

I'm back at Mizzou for grad school in Economics. Officially, I'm retired (as the Mizzou team died during my year off from school). I'm also an NAQT writer. I may come back for CBI, though, as it's Mizzou's turn to host this February.

Forgot to notice that your TTh class is Calc 3 so you're done by 9... very nice.

It's nice to have no labs... at least I'll only have 1 as opposed to 3

Image

Not too fond of that gap through the middle of my day; it won't be too bad on Tuesdays and not bad at all on Thursdays but 2 hours on MWF will not be cool... yes I'll be able to avoid crappy lines for one last semester eating Crapwells but it's not enough time to get anything done... plus the agonizing wait on Friday

This Comp E major will be living in Humanities/Social Sciences next semester (History, SP&M, and CS158 are all in H/SS)

There are two sections of Linear Algebra offered at 10:00 but I'm sure it's going to work out to where I picked Insall's section...

As will this math major (I'll post mine in a bit). I wouldn't assume, though, that ACO will be at the same time next semester.

Yeah I'm aware it might change (and all of my evenings are free except for Thursday so it won't be a problem); just keeping what it currently is at the moment

I'm taking bio (blah!), African-American lit, medieval philosophy, and culture of Spanish America. Oh, and probably choir. And service to the Hispanic community (req. for Spanish major/minor--in Springfield one has to go out of one's way to interact with the Hispanic community, so they stick it in the requirements, I guess). wee...

The Overcoat was a good short story, I kept thinking it was written post 1910s because of its tone... Needless to say, I was wrong. My classmates hated "The Kiss" by Chekhov as having no point and being stupid because it's about a guy who can't get over the titular kiss that came in the dark... "A Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich", is very good and, IMHO, should be read when discussing totalitarian regimes, along with anything involving inprisonment.
