Re: 14 tournament limit and Nationals
Well, I suppose I will reply since this has always had an influence on my playing in HS. Basically, it is really demoralizing to have spent the last 2 and a half years putting as much work as I have into quiz bowl, from studying questions, to reading textbooks, and practicing outside of school with ...

Re: Mandatory recognition
If anything the recognition rule gives the player who buzzed an unfair advantage in my opinion. I can think of a bunch times I've used the extra time to figure out what a tossup is doing and then get easy points, because even when holding your light up for a moderator, they are still human and take ...

Re: WHIT II (Washington High) 12/3
I would also add a tournament like last years Missouri Fall, we (Washington) won and statistically should not have. It's easy to get intimidated by a team that powers 100 something tossups a tournament but it is better to just play the packet that round and see what happens after.

Re: Thoughts on the 2016-2017 Season
Over the summer Washington A became the best players at the local Breadco. (or Panera thoooooooose people)
Then again our toughest opponent was the Mac n Cheese.

Can't seem to quote on mobile, but thank you for the commendation! I hope we can all help raise the state's regard at a national level! As a side note, yes, we are all juniors.

Re: 2015 PACE NSC - June 6-7 in Reston, VA (DC area)
Despite placing pretty low (and being unhappy with my own performance) I felt this national was a very positive experience, and overall it was executed great. I think it would be cool to see more Missouri teams attend in the future.

Re: Feynman Lectures
Or, alternatively, get to kicking the butt of your science player (or your math concepts player) and see that they learn some of this. I never "got" math until I took Physics my Senior year. This is why you have teammates. See now don't tell Dew, but this now this is the desired effect. I...

Re: Feynman Lectures
It's been over 6 years since I took a physics class, so my science knowledge that isn't computer-related has significantly degraded since then. Physics was also never a particularly strong quizbowl subject for me. You'd probably get better advice from someone else, but just in case you don't, I'll ...

Feynman Lectures
So, I'm bored in Personal Finance and was wondering what part of the Feynman lectures I should read for Quizbowl. As some know the lectures are separated into volumes and the volumes into chapters, and from what I know Feynman is pretty good at "dumbing things down," for the everyday guy t...

Re: Who is everybody?
Hi, I'm Joe Stitz I play for Washington, and I'm graduating in 2017 (sophomore), blame Jacob/Dennis for getting me addicted to checking this board for tournaments, and I felt the need to join because why not College? Psh I got time for decisions later As for future plans I hope to read my list of ov...
