Re: 2010 MSHSAA Districts Discussion
Nick has anger problems. I personally didn't pick up on anything of the sort, though I do agree that when the major teams believe the system sucks that something's wrong. If you guys won, congrats and good luck. If not, well, you can sit here and blame the system (albeit not unfairly, since it does ...

Re: 2010 MSHSAA Districts Discussion
I remember you guys (specifically Ammar) raged at me at WUHSAC 11 for answering the last question correctly, getting a rebounding bonus that could've given Eureka the third-place win if they had gotten the bonus. So yes, it's a valid tactic. And bonuses do decide the game, I believe at Missouri S&am...

We lost as well. By 10 to Park Hill South. Well, as least we never have to play on these god awful questions ever again. And we can pray that maybe, just maybe Zeus will smite the QG headquarters with all his arsenal of thunderbolts. You guys are going to HSNCT nationals, right? That trumps the MSH...

Re: 2010 MSHSAA Districts Discussion
Yeah, there were plenty of horrendous questions, quite often ones where you want to anticipate the obvious "giveaway" () and buzz, but your good quizbowl instinct tells you that you don't/can't know for sure what the tossup is asking. And then you kick yourself for not buzzing (Vague, I k...

Actually, to my surprise, there was one question during QG that was considered "Pyramidal"... though we only played three games so I can't speak for the rest of the sets. But all things considered, I'm almost happy not to go to state, I'd much rather use the time to prep for nationals whic...

This somehow seems like whiplash after reading recent posts in this thread, but I just noticed that my high school's team (well, last year's now-graduated varsity, at any rate) is on the MSHSAA front page again.
