There were some very talented individuals at this tournament. I really hope they consider going to more tournaments (especially Springfield Catholic, who took fourth despite not having a team until last week!).

For anyone that's curious, Mizzou A ended up winning the tournament after Truman B (our staffers originally) forfeited the right to play an advantage final. Truman A got third and DePauw B was fourth.

All of what Charlie says is true. And by the way, he was scoring high at HSNCT and NSC AS AN 8TH GRADER. Like around 30 ppg at both. I think Sam just shows that if you prepare enough, you can be good no matter how old you are.

This is all tentative, but Truman is looking to host an A-set tournament on January 21st, and our annual high school tournament, Truman Bowl, on March 24th. In the upper classes i'd like to see someone give Savannah and Ladue a run for their money. It seems like people are already giving up hope of winning Class 4 in 2012/2013 because Ladue's lineup consists of freshmen and sophomores, so it would be interesting to see a team step up and challenge them...

Logistically this tournament was the worst thing I've ever seen.
That's definitely an understatement. Logistically, it seemed like something out of my worst noghtmare. And I was only staffing. I can only imagine what happened to the teams that suffered through this nightmare.

Try staffing tournaments. I know that's helped me get better over this past year. Also try reading stuff that comes up a lot. I have a kindle, and kindle offers a lot of the classics that come up in quiz bowl for free online.
