2011 Villa Duchesne Tournament

Post by christino »

Now that it's over, what were the final results?

I think it was Ladue A 1st, Parkview A 2nd, Priory 3rd, SLUH 4th, and Ladue B 5th.

The official results I have are:

After 12 rounds Ladue A was at a record of 11-1, Parkview A was at a record of 10-2 as was Priory and SLUH. Now since all teams played each other in the playoffs had we seeded this this meant that SLUH and Priory would play a half game to play Parkview for the right to play Ladue in the final. SLUH decided not to progress further in the tournament and forfeited their half game and thus took 4th. Priory lost to Parkview in the half game by a score of 185-165. This put Parkview in a final against Ladue which Ladue won 380-195.

I would like to congratulate all teams for coming and participating. I always am so very encouraged/heartened by seeing young people striving for and acheiving the highest levels of ability, and it makes me quite happy to be able to provide that.

Final results should be up on the NAQT site today. I gave the scoresheets to Greg Bossick on Sunday, and they were almost done as of last night. Greg had a lot of trouble with the bouncebacks on the scoresheets. :(

The prelim results are up here:

Hopefully the playoff results will be up soon. I'll stay on that one.

These PPB statistics are wildly wrong (one team got 70 in a game).

I see that. I'm not sure if that is how it was reported to NAQT or if NAQT has no real ability to account for bouncebacks.

NAQT does have the ability to account for bouncebacks I'm pretty sure, but usually if they can't deal with it they just remove the bonuses column.

I've marked the tournament as using bouncebacks (which as Charlie notes removes the nonsense stats in the "ppb" column).

I'm looking into it. If it's not up this weekend I'm going to have words...

I got a copy of the SQBS for the playoffs, and am trying to figure out the problems with it right now. (Notably: how Helias B is listed as playing two games at the same time in round 9).

Update: fixed the bug; one game in round 9 should have been listed as round 11. Full stats

It looks like individual stats for the playoffs still need to be incorporated.

EDIT: nevermind.

Thank you Jeff, I know that those later rounds in the non championship bracket could not have been easy to go through.
