Parkway West Tournament--April 6

Post by parkwaywest1 »

Parkway West would like to announce its second annual quiz bowl tournament, held Saturday, April 6, 2013 at Parkway West High School. The tournament will use HSAPQ questions, with each game consisting of 20 tossups with 20 3-part, rebounding bonuses. “Powers” are worth 15 points and “negs” are worth -5. We encourage teams to bring their full A team as well as any additional teams they would like. However, we are placing a 12 team cap on the field size. Every team is guaranteed at least 8 games. This is the last weekend before MSHSAA districts, so we hope teams will appreciate the opportunity for one last chance to gain game experience.
The registration fees are as follows:
First team: $60
Subsequent teams: $50
Buzzer discount: $5
Scorekeeper/Moderator discount: $15

Please email me (Erin Fluchel) at efluchel@parkwayschools.net with registrations or questions.

Thanks, and we hope to see you in April!

Is this tournament still happening on HSAPQ-33 questions?

I apologize for the delay--we were on Spring Break last week.

No--there was overlap with the HSAPQ-33 questions, so we are using NAQT questions that shouldn't overlap with any of the teams attending.

According to the NAQT website it is IS-125A, the same set used at Savannah and Twin Rivers. I imagine there will be no overlap with those two tournaments, but just wanted to make sure the specific set was noted in this thread.
