2013 PACE NSC (June 8-9, University of Maryland)

Post by Jeffrey Hill »

The 2013 PACE NSC will be June 8-9 at the University of Maryland-College Park.

Teams qualify for NSC by finishing in the top 15% of an affiliated tournament, the top 20% of a gold-certified tournament, or the top 25% of a platinum-certified tournament. A list of affiliated tournaments and qualified teams is available (though some may be missing if tournament hosts haven't reported results).

Missouri teams registered for NSC (updated 4/22, current field is here)
Hickman A
Hickman B
Fort Osage
Ladue

There is a 64 team cap and registrations have been picking up recently, so if you're wanting to go to NSC, you should register soon!

We did send in our registration a few days back. We qualified at the Truman Sknow Bowl (although our stats aren't up) by finishing 3rd. We are really excited to go to Nationals this year, and maybe we will get to play our fellow Missouri teams again!!

PACE changed policies for this year and required a down payment for registrations to be counted. Has your coach or school sent that in?

Prelim stats are here

Ladue is #1 seed with 634.3 ppg and 24.71 ppb in the prelims. Top 18 teams (of 72) are still eligible for the championship, and have been divided into 3 pools of 6.

Ladue plays:
Round 8: Richard Montgomery A
Round 9: Maggie Walker A
Round 10: Dorman B
Round 11: Montgomery Blair
Round 12: High Tech A

Top 3 in each playoff bracket advance to crossover superplayoffs tomorrow (rounds 13-19 with a bye)

-----------------------
Hickman A was in a 3 way tie for first at 6-1 in their bracket (with a win over Loyola 440-290 and loss to LASA B 550-170). Hickman had the lowest PPG of the 3 teams. LASA B beat Loyola for the first spot, and Loyola beat Hickman A for the second spot, so Hickman A is in the second tier (for 18th-36th place). They are in a playoff bracket with Rockford Auburn, Stevenson A, Northmont, High Tech B, and LASA C.

Fort Osage finished 0-7 in their bracket and is in a fourth tier playoff bracket (55th-72nd place) with Harmony Science North Austin, George Mason, Bloomington, Dunbar B, and Thomas Jefferson (VA) B

Hickman B finished 0-7 in their bracket and is in a fourth tier playoff bracket with Lisgar, Norman, Hanover, Divine Child, and Stevenson B.

In tiers 2-4, teams are also in 3 pools of 6, but will go into a top 2/middle 2/bottom 2 crossover superplayoff in rounds 13-16 and are then done.

Ladue dropped a playoff game to Montgomery Blair 520-290. They ended up in a 3 way tie at 4-1 with Blair and Maggie Walker A. From what I remember they had best PPG in the bracket so were considered #1 for scheduling purposes, but I think Montgomery Blair is ahead of them in carry-over PPG that actually counts. LASA is the only team taking a 2-0 record into the superplayoffs, 7 teams are 1-1, and one 0-2. I think Blair is #2 and Ladue is #3. Everyone will have 6 challenging games tomorrow... this will be a crazy bracket!

Ladue is 6-1, LASA A 7-0 and are playing each other now in the regularly scheduled round 19 game. All other teams have at least 3 losses, so at this point it is an advantaged final with LASA having the advantage.
