Patriot Academic Tournament III-Online on Google Meet (1/28/23)
Dear All,
On behalf of the academic team of Parkway South High School and their coaches, Scott Degitz-Fries and Allison MacDonald, I, Sean Phillips, am pleased to announce the third annual Patriot Academic Tournament brought to you by Parkway South High School, a varsity level event to be held online via Google Meet on Saturday, January 28, 2023.
Both coaches will be serving as the Tournament Director for this event. The question set will be IQBT #2. This set may be used at other events, so please note that you cannot attend any other tournament using this set.
Some of you may be wondering: why do this online? I feel I should be the one to explain as I wanted this and I'm the one who really knows. Over the last two years we did this online because we had to no question as did many schools. First, end of January scares us because the weather can turn to junk and we wouldn't be able to reschedule. Second, what emerged from the first two times we did it was something kinda unique and special. It allowed us to bring in a lot of different teams that usually would have to pay a ton of money in gas and bus fees all on one Saturday. It also helped serve as a precursor to WUHSAC an event all of you know is very dear to my heart. And for staff who will be at WUHSAC it gives them a chance to practice while in the comfort of their homes. I promise each and every one of you this: I'm making sure I give you an A+ staff to make your time on that Saturday brilliant.
So, with all that said, the fee structure for the event is as folllows:
-Flat $10 fee per team regardless of letter designation.
-Additional $60 for a first team and $50 for each subsequent team.
-$10 discount for each buzzer system
-$15 discount for providing each qualified moderator
-$10 discount for providing each scorekeeper.
The initial field cap will be 24 teams. Please limit your rosters to no more than six players per roster. If you have more kids, don't hesitate to add another team.
All registrations should be made using the following form:
https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1wZ_5ul ... s=636b0a78
We can't wait for another rocking event. Take care and see y'all online then.
