2023 NAQT Missouri Qualifier - March 4 at Columbia College
The Missouri Quizbowl Alliance invites all MSHSAA-registered high school Scholar Bowl teams to participate in the fifteenth NAQT Missouri Qualifier on March 4, 2023 at Columbia College. A huge thanks to everyone at Columbia College for once again welcoming us to their campus to host this tournament.
As MOQBA's flagship NAQT event, this tournament regularly features a diverse field of teams from throughout Missouri, recognizing the state's top teams for national tournament qualification in a fast-paced championship atmosphere.
The tournament will use the 2023 NAQT Division II Collegiate Sectionals question set, which is more challenging than NAQT's regular season Invitational Series questions but a step below the difficulty of NAQT's High School National Championship Tournament questions.
Registration opens this Wednesday (December 14) at 6:00 AM. See the full announcement on our website for more details and a link to the registration form.
Our tournaments always receive significant interest from teams and we would like to bring as many as 48 teams to the Columbia College campus, but we need more moderators and scorekeepers than ever to accomplish that. If you are available to staff that day, please email us at qualifier@moqba.org.
We look forward to hosting everyone on March 4 and are hoping to make this the best Qualifier ever!

Re: 2023 NAQT Missouri Qualifier - March 4 at Columbia College
A tournament record forty-seven teams from thirty-six schools attended the 2023 NAQT Missouri Qualifier at Columbia College on March 4, 2023.
After round 9, Fair Grove, Ladue A, Parkway West, and Kickapoo advanced to the top 4 superplayoffs. Entering round 11, Fair Grove and Ladue A were both undefeated, effectively beginning a best-of-three final. Fair Grove won the first game 455-180, then Ladue A won the second game 300-235 to set up a third winner-take-all game. Fair Grove won that game 360-215 to become the second school to win both the overall and small school NAQT Missouri Qualifier titles! The other round 11 game was effectively the third place game, which Parkway West won 370-165 over Kickapoo.
As the only eligible team to advance to the Consolation 1 tier, Eugene was declared the Very Small School champion for the second consecutive year.
See the full recap on our website.
Thanks to all who attended the 2023 Qualifier! We have been dreaming of being able to run a 48 team Qualifier for several years and are thankful to all of the staff and teams for finally making that a reality.
